First released for Japan in July 2020, Dragon Quest Tact is expected to be launched for mobile users across the globe on the 27th of January. The date has been confirmed by Square Enix, the company which is to publish the game.

Dragon Quest Tact is a part of the Japanese Dragon Quest series by Yuji Horii, dating all the way back to 1986 and consisting of eleven games plus a wealth of spin-offs. The most recent addition to the collection is centered on the familiar role-playing turn-based combat gameplay. As a novel element, it focuses on tactical battles where you are to team up with the iconic Dragon Quest monsters to form dedicated fighting units which can show their special abilities in ferocious wars on a grid-based map. There is a story behind each character in case you want to learn more about your monster team.

Dragon Quest Tact is going to be free to download for both iOS and Android devices with in-app purchases available. iOS pre-registration has been available at the App Store for some months now. Users signing up for the game beforehand can get a limited King Slime bonus to use after the game is finally released in late January.
